Client: GAVRILOVIĆ d.o.o., Gavrilovićev trg 1, 44250 Petrinja

Scope of Works
– Construction of a new gas-fired steam boiler plant with a total steam generation capacity of 2 × 6 t/h (two boilers, each with a rated thermal input of Q = 3.8 MW when fired with natural gas).
– Mechanical installation works for the administration building’s heating and cooling system, featuring two air-cooled polyvalent heat pumps in a four-pipe configuration, each with a capacity of 250 kW.
– Installation of a new heating and cooling substation within the existing boiler house.
– Electrical installation and automation works, including boiler plant control and connection to the existing central monitoring system.

System Description / Additional Details
The steam generation plant, based on high-pressure steam boilers, is integrated with the air-to-water heat pump system. During cooling operation, waste heat recovered from the heat pumps is used to preheat the boiler feedwater.
When the heat pumps operate in heating mode, the available cooling energy is used to cool semi-durable meat products in one of the production areas.

This arrangement provides a highly efficient system that utilises the thermal energy generated by the heat pumps throughout the year. Rather than being rejected to the outside air, this energy is recovered to meet various energy demands within the factory, significantly reducing operating costs for both steam generation and the heating and cooling of the administration building.

The steam boiler plant is sized exclusively to serve high-temperature production processes and air handling unit systems, while the administration building is heated using energy supplied by the polyvalent heat pumps.

– Steam operating pressure: 6 bar.
